«Dainisshou -Tsuyogari-» is Yuko Nakazawa‘s second album, released six years after her debut album. It features all her singles’ A-sides from her 3rd single up to her 10th, a cover of Morning Musume’s «Furusato», and two new songs.

The album sold a total of 12.485 copies, and ranked at #31 on the Oricon music charts.

Comments from Tsunku (her producer):

«My impression on Yuko Nakazawa hasn’t changed much since I met her very first time. I’m sure she’s gone through some changes along the way, but while I was creating the album, I came to a conclusion that my first impression of her was just like this album.

After graduating from Morning Musume, she has been gaining experiences in a variety of fields such as TV doramas and musicals. Maybe that’s why she seems to be maintaining the same attitude as the first time we met.

As for the title, Tsuyogari, I wanted to express a woman’s stubborn courage for not revealing the true side of her, as well as the part where she feels she needs to change into a more sincere, honest personality.

The concept of the album is “a complete shift in a mindset”. It is as if to commemorate a new beginning.

Currently, Yuko Nakazawa still holds freshness from her debut era, so I thought, she might as well shift her mindset right now into a completely new direction so she can have another new beginning to discover more of herself!

After completing the album, I was listening to the finished product by myself and thought, “My impression of her is still the same, but my impression on her songs has changed a lot. I didn’t know she was able to express such a wide range of emotions.”

This song is the A-Side to Nakazawa’s 4th single. Tsunku, her producer and songwriter, wrote on his homepage about this release:

«Once again, I was in charge of the overall production of the single for Yuko Nakazawa. As I was talking with my staff, we agreed not to limit her potential as an enka artist but to expand her horizon as a Yuko Nakazawa, just the way she was. It may fit into the category of “adult-contemporary” in J-pop. But I produced this song in hope for creating the best pop song.«

Nakazawa said in a video-interview, eight years after the release:

«[Showing the cover of the cd single] Can’t you see I am smiling? I’m smiling right? Because it’s not enka. I was so happy to be honest. (lol) I don’t know how this came about, but back then, I was still uncomfortable seeing myself as an enka singer, so I was very surprised when I received this song. The song had a nice Chinese-flavor to it.»
