Morning Musume Tanjou 10-nen Kinentai is a unit created in 2007 to celebrate Morning Musume’s 10th anniversary as a group. The group consisted of present members and graduated members of Morning Musume; Natsumi Abe (graduated), Kaori Iida (graduated), Maki Goto (graduated), Risa Niigaki and Koharu Kusumi. Abe and Iida were also two of the original five.

Tsunku (their manager, who also created the group Morning Musume in 1997) said he picked the girls based on their age. The original MM consisted of five girls between 13-24 when it was made in 1997, so he chose five girls within that age range. Their ages at the time:
Kaori Iida: 25 years (matches Nakazawa’s age)
Natsumi Abe: 25 years (matches Nakazawa’s age)
Maki Goto: 21 years (matches Aya Ishiguro’s age)
Risa Niigaki: 19 years (matches Iida and Abe’s ages)
Koharu Kusumi: 15 years (matches Fukuda’s age)
